An a-ha moment for your business

I wanted to start this blog with a quote that my mindset coach shared with me.

“There is nowhere for you to get to. There is only somewhere you can shift to.”

In other words, it’s not about you trying to get to some end destination, it’s about becoming the person you need to be to get to where you want to go.

Let’s start by getting honest with ourselves. Have you felt like you have been in a rut? Maybe in a revenue, creative, or just a rut in general?

I am about to walk you through a series of questions to help you overcome stagnicity or any other challenge you are overcoming. (Bookmark this for when things get unclear or challenging)

When answering these questions, reply with your gut, which will most likely be the first thing that comes to mind.

Here are five questions that I want you to answer

1. What are you known for currently, and what do you want to be known for?

Sometimes there is a disconnect with our audience. If you’re known for something you don’t want to be known for, that’s a problem.

I was known in the Indy area as Trendy in Indy (even still). I realized somewhere along the way that I didn’t want to be known as Trendy in Indy. I wanted to be known as someone who is an accelerator for small businesses. I wanted to be known for what I bring to the table.

So what do you want to be known for? And what are you known for? Do they match? If so, rock on! Maybe what you need is even a slight up-level.

Ask your customers or clients. Ask your customers or clients if you don’t know what you’re known for.

What are three words would you use to describe me? How would you describe the work we do together? Or even ask your audience.

2. If someone new had to run your business, what would be the first three things you teach them?

The first three things you write down are essential to your overall business structure. Lean into this for a while because these are the most critical components of your business.

If someone came in to run my business, the first few things I would teach them is The Weber Co. philosophy on branding and marketing.

What are these crucial elements for you?

3. In five words or less, what do you do?

I ask my clients this question, and they usually reply, “Five words or less, oh no?”. Let me tell you something about branding. Branding is taking something complex and simplifying it as much as possible.

We often overcomplicate things. We can’t do that.

These five words can be descriptor words, or they can complete a full sentence. It doesn’t matter.

This will give you the clarity to simplify.

4. If your business could only offer one product, what would it be, and what would the price point be?

Bless all of you multi-passionate entrepreneurs. I am the same way, I get these great ideas, and I’m like, “Ok, team, let’s go!” Sometimes, we just have to chill for a moment and refine what we have.

What is it that you like to do the most? What is it that your audience wants the most from you? You must identify these things.

I’m asking you this price point piece because this will allow you to reverse engineer your revenue goals and give you the clarity for your marketing to make that a reality.

I’m not telling you to eliminate your entire offer suit. I’m asking you to lean into what you’re great at and what your audience loves.

5. If you had to partner with someone offering complimentary service, who/what would it be?

I’m asking you this because collaboration is one of the 3 C’s of marketing. I can tell you that we have partnered with our fantastic client Lyndsey at The Polish Code. She is a web developer and designer, and it has been a beautiful collaboration.

I refer her, and she refers me because our services go hand and hand.

I would love for you to DM me at @theweberco and tell me an answer to one of these questions, and we will send you a free gift.
