8 Signs That You Have Solid Brand Clarity

Sometimes we see these huge beautiful brands that seem to have it all together, but ask yourself…

Are you emotionally connected to them? Have you had conversations with them that light you up? Or do they respond with an emoji?

A solid brand fosters community and connection. They make their people feel seen and heard while prioritizing relationships.

Having a “cool vibe” isn’t enough to build a community of raving brand fans. It’s just a bonus.

The best parts of your brand are how you make people feel, not the aesthetic.

I don’t know about you, but I would rather do business with a brand that prioritizes its audience over its presets. That is the difference. That is a legendary brand, and legendary brands are timeless.

So how do you know if you have solid brand clarity? Sometimes we are so close to our own businesses that it’s hard to take a deep dive ourselves. This is why we offer brand audits through our agency.

Here are eight signs that you know you have a solid brand:

  1. Your audience can recite your story back to you.

If your audience can’t recite your stories back to you, you aren’t telling them enough. Story is what connects us. Our brains are literally wired to not only love but recollect stories.

An example: One of my team members was just telling me about a time when she read a Brene Brown book, and every chapter started with a story, the stories are the only thing that stuck with her. We have a blog on the 7 Types of Brand Story to help you unpack yours and maximize your marketing efforts.

2. Clients/customers are referring and returning.

Client retention and client referrals really come down to client results. (We will have a blog all about client results soon.) However, when a client feels aligned with your brand and proud to share your brand with their peers, it becomes a snowball effect. I had a client Whitney, who referred her friend Paige, and Paige referred her friend Alex. This is ideal when running a business, and your brand plays a big part here.

3. You have consistent messaging across all of your platforms.

You don’t need to be on all platforms, but you should have consistent messaging on those you are on. I do understand that TikTok and LinkedIn are two very different platforms, and the content will look different, but the messaging should be in alignment with your brand.

4. You have an emotional connection with your audience.

We are emotional beings. We make decisions out of emotion. We buy out of emotion. Get vulnerable and share your stories, lessons, and experiences.

5. You are living out your core values.

Who are you when nobody is watching? Eating, sleeping, and breathing your brand foundations will take you so far in business. This is partially why this brand work is done first, it is the structure of how your brand is built.

6. Your audience is excited when you come out with a new offer.

We are actually experiencing this right now with an offer we are coming out with next month, which is so exciting! We aren’t always selling or in launch mode. Most of the time, we are educating, inspiring, and nurturing our people through our content.

7. You (your brand) are constantly evolving.

This is something else we experience often, and as exciting as it is to grow, it can be terrifying. Growth sometimes means that you’re leaving behind things that have worked for you in the past to move forward. I’m going to let you in on a secret, what got you to where you are now, will not be practices that take you to where you want to go.

8. Your audience is using your language back to you.

The two top drivers in sales are frequency & repetition. To be honest, I think this is a struggle for some people. In today’s world, it takes 30-50 touch points for people to think, “Hey, maybe this is for me.”  Being repetitive might seem counterintuitive, but it’s necessary, and despite what your mind is telling you, it doesn’t annoy your audience. It builds trust.
