6 Ways to gain visibility online

The million dollar question

How to get more eyes on the content we are producing? Before we dive into this subject, I want you to know that more followers don’t always equal more dollars.

As an example: If you’re a Network Marketer with 100,000 followers, that might appear great, but what if they were all already in your company? They can’t join you, so it doesn’t do much good.

Here is another example: You are a postpartum health coach who loves to help women slowly find a routine after pregnancy, you have 100,000 followers but none of them are pregnant women or new moms. You probably aren’t profiting off of your following.

  1. Collaborations

Collaboration seems to be the marketing component people often forget about or put on the back burner. The thing is, strategic collaboration with other creators can: increase your brand exposure, build trust with your network, and demonstrate authority within your industry.

** Important note about collaborations: your champagne client should be hanging out in their ecosystem and vice vera for it to be mutually beneficial**

Collabs are also one of our Three C’s of Marketing here at The Weber Co. We love collaborations for several reasons.

Here are some examples of solid collaborations:

  • If you sell essential oils, maybe partner with a Yoga studio or teacher.

    • You most likely have similar avatars. People who care about living a well and holistic lifestyle and are willing to invest to get the support to make that happen.

  • You’re a make-up artist who specializes in weddings, maybe you have a collaborative offer with a wedding planner/photographer/or hairstylist. T

    • his allows you to build a network and clientele with people who otherwise may not have found you.

  • You’re a Social Media Manager that collaborates with an ads expert.

    • You probably have an avatar with the same needs, and interests and they are probably hanging out in the same places and listening to the same podcasts, training, etc. This could result in new sales opportunities or raving brand fans.

Pro tip: Make a goal of how many collaborations you would like to have per month. This will give you the lens of intentionally looking for collaborations in your community.

2. Engaging & connecting

Before we dive into this, let’s discuss the difference between engaging & connecting.

Engaging happens in the comment section, and sales rarely happen in the comment section. However, engaging is still a super important thing to do.

  1. People love engagement, I mean don’t you? Engaging helps build the relationship and it will improve your brand presence in their minds.

  2. Having conversations (even when in the comment section) is still an income-producing activity. It will lead to conversations in the DM’s as well with more meaningful/private topics.

3. Share content from others

Does this seem odd? How can sharing other people’s content help with your visibility online? I will say it’s a 2-way street. Sharing other people’s content can lead to a public reshare or thank you in front of their audience. It can also make them want to share yours, this is the Law of Reciprocity.

4. Post when it’s the best time for your avatar (not for you)

Before we get into this I will say, you may need to look into a scheduler if you haven’t already. Recording and analyzing your insights will tell you when it’s the best time to post for your specific avatar.

5. Leverage forms of video

Most consumers are preferring video. Similar to posting when our avatar is present, we should be creating content with them in mind, and not us.

I know that it can be uncomfortable for some to get on video, but I truly believe that if you believe in the solution and impact that you’ve created you will get on the video to share about it. Only 7% of communication is with our words, the rest is tonality and body language.

In a nutshell: Video increases visibility by using the features the platform favor, gaining followers with clear communication, and producing the type of content your avatar wants to see.

6. Cross-promote your content

It’s a great thing if your followers are coming to find you on other platforms. It increases touchpoints and obviously visibility online. Make it easier for them to find you by telling them where, how, and why.

We leverage exclusive content on certain platforms like TikTok to give a reason to follow us there from Instagram.

Some examples of cross-promotion across your platforms can look like this:

  • Promoting your TikTok on Instagram stories.

  • Promoting your Instagram on TikTok.

  • We will be promoting this blog on Instagram stories.
